Heat pumps, off-peak electricity and multiple meters: record figures separately
By EnergieFinder · Sources checked:
The short answer
First check whether you have multiple devices, metering points or registers on one device. Record consumption and tariff allocation for each point or register. Adding everything together can conceal differences an offer needs.
Two registers do not necessarily mean two devices
E-Control describes dual-tariff meters with separate peak and off-peak readings. Heat pump metering varies by installation. If the allocation is unclear, ask the network operator rather than inferring the contract structure from the displays or device name.
Fill in one worksheet per metering point
Record the metering point, device or register label, billing period, kWh and current tariff. Use annual consumption, not cumulative display readings. Mark whether household use and heating share the same figure to avoid counting usage twice or overlooking a metering point.
Confirm special conditions
Ask suppliers which products serve each metering point and which fixed costs apply per point. Check data requirements for time-dependent products. EnergieFinder currently accepts one annual consumption figure per preparation; it does not combine special tariffs, register splits or multiple metering points. Use the worksheet for a complete comparison.

Your next step
Prepare your comparison here. Compare current electricity and gas tariffs in the E-Control tariff calculator.
