What makes up your electricity bill?
E-Control groups costs into energy, grid charges, taxes and levies. The supplier sets the energy price; grid charges and some levies depend on your network area. Mark each component on your bill and the offer. A price showing only the energy component cannot be compared directly with your full bill.
How to read the saved price examples
There is no single electricity price for all of Austria. Our examples come from saved public comparisons for the postcode and annual consumption shown. We display the lowest annual cost in that particular saved result, not the cheapest tariff on the whole market. The timestamp belongs to the comparison; results older than 24 hours are marked historical. Check current prices and terms before switching.
Compare the energy rate and annual total
Record the unit and tax basis for every price. The usage-based rate is charged per kWh; a fixed annual charge is added separately. For offers with a one-off bonus, compare first-year costs with later costs without that bonus. Use the linked guide to calculate the energy component, then check whether grid charges and levies are included in the quoted total.
